Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says she is “utterly disgusted” by the behavior of soccer fans celebrating their league victory in Glasgow, including the fans’ “vile anti-Catholic prejudice.” Rangers F.C. defeated Aberdeen 4-0 on Saturday to boast an undefeated season. They clinched the title in March, but lifted the trophy for the 55th time in their history after the Aberdeen match.

Pope Francis has appointed Jesuit Father Stephen Chow as the next bishop of Hong Kong. Bishop-elect Chow, 61, has served as the provincial of the Jesuits’ Chinese Province since 2018. In that role, he led the Jesuit order in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China as the Vatican-China deal was first signed and during the crackdown on Hong Kong’s democracy protest movement.

Supreme Court to hear Mississippi abortion case challenging Roe v. Wade…

The Supreme Court on Monday agreed to consider a case involving a state 15-week abortion ban. The court will be taking up the case of Jackson Women’s Health Organization v. Dobbs, involving Mississippi’s ban on most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The high court agreed only to consider one question presented in the petition for certiorari, namely, “Whether all pre-viability prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional?”
