The Minerva publishing firm began operating in 1943, under the direct encouragement of Saint Josemaría. But in a very short time it had to close down.
However, the effort was not in vain, since the experience gained from this first attempt at publishing books led over time to beginning Rialp and Scepter publishers, and so any other initiatives that faithful of Opus Dei have started all over the world.
