Homily God has made himself manifest to us. Will we make ourselves manifest to him?
Homily Advent is a time to reflect. It is a time to contemplate. It is a time for us to look into our hearts and look for what obstacles are stopping us from encountering the Lord. Ask the Lord for the grace to be able to remove that obstacle so that you will be able to catch that fire, enkindle the fire, and share that fire with others.
Homily We are tempted to believe that sin is normal. But, God never intended for us to be weighed down and burdened by sin.
Homily Christmas will come. We can depend on that. And isn’t it nice to be able to depend on something in 2020? That Jesus was born in Bethlehem, unto us a Savior is born, is unchangeable. That’s solid ground for us. But as we have experienced, so much that we think of as stable, can change in an instant. And that can be deeply disturbing to us. Which is maybe why we hang Christmas lights before Advent has even begun. Because deep down we know that there has to be SOMETHING stable. There has to be SOMETHING that won’t change. And we are looking for that something.
