In September 2019, a Quebec Superior court Truchon decision, struck down the section of Canada’s euthanasia law that restricted euthanasia to people whose natural death is reasonably foreseeable. The Truchon court decision was not appealed by the federal or provincial governments creating a new debate concerning the limits for euthanasia (MAiD) in Canada.
