At pro-life Mass, Naumann calls for mercy

Washington D.C., Jan 17, 2019 / 09:00 pm (CNA).- The pro-life movement must be one of mercy, said Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City Thursday night, at the opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC.

 

“The pro-life ethic challenges us to care about the sacredness of every human being throughout the life spectrum. We are called always and everywhere to promote the dignity of the human person,” Naumann said in his homily at the Mass, which preceded the nation’s annual March for Life Friday.

Program for Priestly Formation (English Sector) – New Edition Now Available

The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) has released a new edition of its document, Program for Priestly Formation (Ratio formationis sacerdotalis nationalis) for English Sector seminaries and houses of formation in Canada. This document replaces the former edition of Program of Priestly Formation published by the CCCB in 1981.
The new document outlines the basic principles and guidelines for the formation of candidates to the priesthood, particularly those called to live their priestly lives as diocesan priests in English-speaking Canada.

Rally at the Papal Nunciature in DC TOMORROW Before March for Life

For those of you going to the March for Life in Washington, DC, tomorrow, there’s an event happening at the Papal Nunciature that may be of interest to you. Considering that the hour is late, I won’t belabor this by writing an introduction.
Below is the full press release I received on the event, which is being sponsored by Catholic Laity. This is a group founded by Winnie Obike and Donna Bethell, who started a petition that garnered over 140,000 signatures to get Cardinal Wuerl removed as the Archbishop of Washington.
