France: Pope Names New Bishop

Pope Francis on November 15, 2017, appointed Bishop Nicolas Souchu as bishop of the diocese of Aire et Dax, France. Msgr. Souchu is currently auxiliary bishop of Rennes.

Bishop Nicolas Souchu was born on July 25, 1958, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, in the diocese of Nanterre. After his classical studies, he attended the Faculty of Law and Economic Sciences of the University of Orléans, obtaining in 1980 the Maîtrise in Economic and Social Administration, while following university formation courses for future priests (GFU).
