The Special committee of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) for World Youth Day is responsible to excite dioceses from all over Brazil, in preparation for the Missionary Week. With this in mind, the committee, in partnership with the Local Organiser Committee (COL) for WYD Rio2013, made twelve thousand posters, in order to reach all the parishes in Brazil, spread out over 276 Brazilians dioceses.

Special attention should be paid to the Christian cultural heritage, the monuments of architecture, art, sculpture, written language.

Vatican City, (VIS) – Tomorrow Benedict XVI is due to begin his twenty-fourth apostolic trip abroad, taking him to Lebanon where, in the country’s capital city of Beirut on Sunday, he is due to sign the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation of the Special Assembly for the Middle East of the Synod of Bishops, which took place in the Vatican in October 2010.The name of Beirut is thought to be Canaanite in origin (bis’rot, the plural of bir meaning a well, a reference to the water tables under the city).
