As the Parliament is about to begin debating Motion 312 (the one that challenges the current definition of a human being,)
has launched a campaign to send 100,000 pro-life letters to the Prime Minister, voicing our opposition to abortion.
In Canada we have a law (Section 223 of the Criminal Code) stating that the unborn are not human beings until they have proceeded entirely from the mother’s womb. This means that even if the little toe of the baby remains in the birth canal, it is still not considered a human being and can be killed with no consequences whatsoever.
MP Stephen Woodworth has proposed Motion 312, to open the discussion about the humanity of the unborn. This would mean a possible reconsideration of this outdated law that was first enacted 400 years ago in British common law. Please support this motion to recognize children in the womb as human beings! Write your letter(s) today.
In Canada alone, 100,000 unborn children are aborted every year. Around the world, one child is killed every three seconds.
Please take a few minutes to write your letter for life.

My mother used to tell about a young man who became a priest. She knew his great- grandmother who had a baby out of wedlock. Mom mused that had her friend had an abortion at her lowest moment that young priest, his grandparents, parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, cousins would never have been born. That young priest now has a cousin who also became a priest from the same line.
Since 1970 3.5 million babies have been aborted. What a great blow to two generations. Who is missing? We will never know.
And now we have the opportunity to support a debate on the issue of when life begins. We’ve come a long way since Section 223 (1) of the Canadian Criminal Code was brought forth in 1644, thanks to a politician with the courage of his convictions, who is willing to put his job on the line.
Now is our opportunity to become informed and to be part of the discussion. Let us not miss the opportunity. We have been comfortable for too long. It is a very small thing that we have to do. If each of us acts on it we can accomplish something grea
Write to your MP and to the Prime Minister and ask them support Steve Woodworth’s motion to examine the outdated Personhood Law, Section 223 (1) in relation to current scientific medical research. That is all you have to do, the least that you can do. If we all act we can make a difference.
Finally, let us thank God for this opportunity.
Respectfully,
Mary Alice Zister

I am astounded by a country that says a child is not a person until they’re born. The whole issue really hit home on Jan. 22 when I helped deliver my baby girl.
Holding her just out of my wife’s womb, she was the most perfect, most innocent, life-sustaining person I’ve ever seen. However, according to the laws of this country that I love and have served and would lay my life down for in an instant, had my baby girl been allowed to continue to full term she would not have been a person.
I have to ask why this is. The doctors and medical staff at Grand River Hospital clearly felt that she was capable of breathing and sustaining life on her own. Otherwise it would have been reckless of them to induce labour. She was born at 8 pounds, 9 ounces; therefore she was a good size baby. The problem with the current law as it stands is that it defines personhood based on the location of the baby. Had my baby girl stayed in my wife’s womb for another four weeks she would not be a person, even though she was fully developed and fully capable of living on her own.
I, for one, wholeheartedly support Kitchener Centre MP Stephen Woodworth in his initiative to have the personhood laws of this country reviewed, changed and updated as we are in dire need of. I applaud him in his efforts and implore the rest of Parliament to follow his leadership.
