“Why this waste?” – Matthew 26:9 May 2nd, 2013 Written by: Raph Ma One of the most common questions I get from my non-Catholic friends and acquaintances when they find out that I’m a seminarian is: “So, does that mean you can’t get married?” At first I found it awkward to explain, but now when I answer them, I try to show them that celibacy is not simply a negation, somehow imposed on me from the outside, but a positive response made from within.

Contraception laid groundwork for Gosnell’s ‘House of Horrors’ Posted on May 1st, 2013 by Paycheck in Abortion, Contraception A Catholic bishop in Nebraska is arguing that the atrocities allegedly committed by abortionist Kermit Gosnell at his “House of Horrors” in Philadelphia were the result of a “contraceptive mentality” that closes off the sexual act from the gift of life. In a new column for the Southern Nebraska Register, Bishop James Conley of Lincoln observes that Gosnell’s so-called “post-birth abortions” were the “logical outcome of the abortion mentality.” But he takes it further, arguing that “they are also, in a deeper sense, the result of what Blessed John Paul II called the ‘contraceptive mentality.’” Bishop James Conley of Lincoln Bishop Conley says it’s wrong to think contraception can reduce the number of abortions, and, in fact, a “culture of contraception cannot avoid becoming a ‘culture of death’ – in which some lives are seen not as gifts, but as burdens.”… (Source)Sooner or later….everyone has to admit the connection.Share this: This entry was posted on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013 at 10:16 pm and is filed under Abortion, Contraception

Jack McMahon, attorney for Kermit Gosnell: …accused the prosecution of exaggerating the severity of the squalor inside the abortion center, claiming that the “House of Horrors” label it earned from prosecutors was “the most extraordinary hype and exaggeration in the history of the criminal justice system.”Interestingly enough: Not even Gosnell’s defense lawyer denies Gosnell was killing babies. Over and over again, McMahon told the jury that babies were injected with Digoxin, which he called “the killing drug” in order “to kill the babies intrauteral [sic].” But according to state law, as long as those deaths occurred in utero, they were not murder.

M-408 deemed non-votable Published: Monday, April 29, 2013, 7:30 am | Author: Patrick Craine and Paul Tuns Print This Article Tagged with: abortion law Politics MP Mark Warawa’s motion to condemn sex-selection abortion was declared non-votable March 21 in the ongoing joint effort by Canada’s Conservative government and opposition parties to keep the abortion debate out of Parliament. The question was brought up unexpectedly at the Sub-Committee on Private Members’ Business on the day the government released its budget for 2013, meaning parliamentary reporters are “locked up” and unavailable to report on the issue. The sub-committee vote, believed to be at the instigation of the Prime Minister’s Office, was unanimous. At the sub-committee, which reports to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs, members argued that this Parliament had already taken up the issue, claiming that M-408 and M-312 were both on abortion, and thus cannot be taken up again under parliamentary rules.
