A Stranger In A Strange Land

Life, As I Find It My work often takes me to England – a country I love, in no small part because my wife is English and my son was born there. I have gone with friends and co-workers who sometimes surprise me with their reactions to things that are unfamiliar.

Beaconsfield Anglican church (near Montreal) promotes communion service for worshippers with dogs

I found this rather amusing, but disturbing as well. Although my dog is present, at times, when I say the Anglican Use Office, I have yet to teach him to howl the Benedictus or the Magnificat and have no intention of doing so.

Russian Orthodox warns Church of England

SOURCE: World News Group The Russian Orthodox Church recently warned the new head of the Church of England about the possibility of allowing female bishops, saying it could break the unity among the churches. The Church of England, which oversees the world’s 80 million-member Anglican Communion, narrowly rejected allowing women bishops last November, while congregations in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada all allow female bishops

Another voice calling for “Romanorum coetibus”

I have often written that the Church of England needs to issue their document Romanorum coetibus, by which they will give a safe-haven to catholic liberals who want to keep their large puppets and pottery, 60′s music and the ordination of women, prayer to the earthmothergoddess… all without the spirit-repressing domination of masculine Rome! And they can use whatever translation they want!In the Guardian there was this recently:Why be a liberal Catholic when you could be an Anglican?
