Holy Family Apostolate, March Reflection

Holy Family Apostolate, March ReflectionPosted onMarch 6, 2013byBishop Gary M. GordonYou have to realize, deeply, fully, that all you are, all you have, is from God.Once you make this truth of your poverty before God the very marrow of your thoughts, your life, your love, your body, in a word, your being, then youwill become truly humble, then you shall walk in truth, walk in and with God.Holy Family Apostolate Reflection for March, 2013 This entry was posted in Newsletter

Lent: Light in the darkness

Thumbnail

Lent: Light in the darknessPosted onFebruary 19, 2013byBishop Gary M. GordonThe long dark nights of winter are giving way to Lenten spring. Yet even in the darkness there is life, as is seen by the giant mushrooms growing in our West Coast rain forest.Like the desert where Jesus spent 40 days and was tempted to not put all His trust in the Father, so often the darkness of life and places of desert in our hearts can tempt us away from entrusting our lives to God.Even our empty churches can tempt us to look for a different God The season of Lent gives us the opportunity to see deeply the life and light found in the darkness and in the desert
