Characters of the Reformation 5 – Thomas Cromwell
If you thought you knew the history of the Reformation, it is always good to have a refresher course, and there is nobody better to take you through than the inimitable Hilaire Belloc. His Characters of the Reformation doesn’t pretend to be an exhaustive or objective study of the time. It is definitely pro-Catholic, but in saying that it is accurate and is a great correction for the typical narrative which whitewashes the main characters and glosses over the terrible violence of this fore runner of all revolutions.
