A Capuchin and the archbishop of Boston, O’Malley was appointed in April 2013 to an advisory board of eight cardinals to assist Pope Francis in reforming the Church’s central administration. In a wide-ranging discussion about issues currently confronting the Catholic Church, including child abuse, O’Donnell suddenly demanded to know why women cannot be ordained
