ACTION ITEM: Help with a survey about the ordination of women!
A friend alerted me to a piece over at ultra-liberal US Catholic by our old pal Phyllis Zagano, regular columnist for Fishwrap (aka National Schismatic Reporter). It is provocatively entitled:
What’s the problem with women deacons?
Oh, my. What an opening.
An obvious flaw in her presentation is the assumption that female deacons were the equivalent of male deacons in the early Church. Moreover, there just isn’t enough information available about early practices to provide a stable foundation for an argument in favor of the ordination of women to the diaconate.
Also, we can’t accept her claim that the ordination of women to the diaconate doesn’t have anything to do
