…was told by their leader that they should not sing any Christmas carols because to do so would be offensive. This was rubbish – there is absolutely no legal or other requirement to ban the singing of the time-honoured carols that are so much part of Britain’s traditional Christmas celebrations. But somehow, people have got the idea that there is some sort of restriction, that “it isn’t allowed now” to have carols.
