TANZANIA AND KENYA CONDUCT CHRISTIAN LIFE PROGRAMS
Two mission areas of Canada in East Africa held two separate Christian Programs to two new parishes.
Usseri Parish-St John the Baptist in Moshi, Tanzania, conducted its very first Christian life program last October 22-28, 2017 with 271 participants. Fr. Emmanuel Ndekusara , Parish Priest was the key person who made this CLP a success. In one of the masses where he invited his parishioners to attend the CLP, he said that to be able to attend this activity one needs to sacrifice.. He encouraged every parishioners to do their household chores early, plan their activities and pray hard to be fully equipped in heeding to the call of God.
The CLP Team consists of Bro. Sylvester Mahiri, Fulltime Pastoral Worker for Tanzania, Bro. Valerian Elias Kimario, Chapter head of CFC Moshi together with his members came in full force. Assisting them were Bro. Goi and Sis Charm Villegas, Fulltime Pastoral Workers from Kenya and Bro. Jun and Sis. Malou Clarito, Regional Coordinators for East Africa.
The Christian Life Program was held everyday from 1:30-5:00 and was finished after seven days. The fruits of the labour yielded 271 participants. There were 69 couples, forming 12 households, 112 Handmaids of the Lord forming 27 households, 17 Singles for Christ with 3 households and four Servants of the Lord creating 1 household.
Indeed God is blessing our mission areas with so much zeal as we heed to the call to expand our reach.

Even the rainy and cold weather did not stop the participants in attending the daily CLP sessions
St. Mary Magdalene Parish located in Nairobi, Kenya opened their doors to Couples for Christ to conduct its first Christian Life Program with the blessing and support of its Parish priest, Rev. Fr Ignatius Njue. The CLP dedication day was held last October 29, 2017 during the Sunday mass. Eighteen (18) couples and four Handmaids of the Lord were welcomed and presented to the parishioners. It was a joyous celebration with so much dancing and singing. The CLP Team headed by Goi and Charm Villegas together with the local CFC leaders and members, welcomed the members with a feast consisting of African food followed by a short program where some participants shared about how they feel being new members of CFC.. Bro. Jun and Sis. Malou Clarito, East Africa Coordinators were also present to show their support and to encourage the new members to be the source of inspiration to other couples so that through witnessing, more couples will follow the path to holiness.
