Weinstein is the natural product of a sick and sexually obsessed culture
Harvey Weinstein

The world by now has heard of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein. The Hollywood man used his position of authority to sexually harass, abuse and even assault women. Presently twenty-seven woman have publicly come out telling how Weinstein exploited them sexually. By these accounts, he’s a very sick and depraved man who preyed on vulnerable women for sex. It’s the behaviour of a pervert and a sexual predator. There was never a need to get consent because Weinstein was a movie mogul. He’s the Hollywood conman making films for money and sex. How could anyone so popular and making so many movies do anything wrong? He had power, money and control. Hollywood has always had a difficulty time with the truth about their business. But it has a dark underbelly.

There are many women that so far claim Weinstein sexually abused them: Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mira Sorvino, Kate Beckinsale, Heather Graham, Cara Delevingne, Léa Seydoux, Ashley Judd, Lucia Evans, Asia Argento, Ambra Battilana Gutierrez, Rosanna Arquette, Emily Nestor, Emma de Caunes, Jessica Barth, Tomi-Ann Roberts, Katherine Kendall, Judith Godreche, Dawn Dunning, Louisette Geiss, Laura Madden, Zelda Perkins, Romola Garai, Sarah Ann Masse, Liza Campbell, Zoë Brock and Lauren Sivan. We list each name because with so many accusations it’s easy to forget that each name is a person worthy of dignity and respect.

A number of actors such as Kate Winslet, George Clooney, Jennifer Lawrence and Ben Affleck have  now come out condemning Weinstein behaviour. But the question remains: why didn’t anyone speak up before? Even Hilary Clinton had something to say about Weinstein who is big donor and fundraiser for the Democratic party. She posted the right sounding statement on Twitter saying that the behaviour that women were describing should not be tolerated. Fine, is that it? Pretty mild reaction when one considers the gravity of what the man is accused of doing to people.

However, we should not expect the Hollywood crowd and the Democrats who over the decades have backed progressive policies to be too condemnatory of Weinstein. They can’t. Even liberals may admit, in a sober moment, that the push for free and unrestricted sex and relationships have helped to produce Weinstein. The progressives want the deplorables to believe that Weinstein is an anomaly. He’s not. And haven’t we been told that progressive policies are needed to protect society from sexual predatory behavior? They don’t work. It’s a big lie. Weinstein is the result of a sick and morally relativistic culture that has been pushing sexual gratification at will. It’s comprehensive sex “education” at the societal level.

Weinstein and Canada’s Jian Gomeshi are the natural products of the sexual revolution of the 1960s that ushered in and celebrates every sexual perversity, abortion and contraception. Weinstein was just doing his own thing. This anti-family, anti-life but pro-sex of every kind philosophy made Hefner a playboy “success.” He constructed his life on adultery, sexual desires and guilt. When society turns Alfred Kinsey into a god what do we expect? Weinstein did as he pleased because the people around around him also embraced and enabled sexual immorality as a good.

Weinstein is the natural product of a sick and sexually obsessed culture. He’s not the exception. In Ontario, Canada, a convicted child predator Benjamin Levin helped to develop the current radical and permissive sex curriculum that is now taught in schools. It’s what you get from a culture that has no faith in anything but the self and the pursuit of fame, money, wants and desires. This is a self-serving culture that gives young people little hope for the future. It’s a sterile culture, devoid of charity, sacrifice and exists to exploit others for greed, sex and material gain. Weinstein is a symptom of moral decadence and corruption for “A sound tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a rotten tree bear good fruit.”
