We want to pray for all the delegates attending the National C.W.L. Convention which takes place in our Diocese this week, that they be open to the voice of God’s Holy Spirit during their deliberations.

The next peaceful Pro-life Rally is on Saturday, August 12 at 11:00 am in Summerside along the Roy Boates Avenue near Prince County Hospital.

Immaculate Conception Church Palmer Road

Palmer Rd Picnic-Aug 20: Join us at Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road on Sunday, Aug 20 for our annual picnic. This year our church is celebrating 125 years and we are celebrating with “A grand tea party”. The day which begins with an outdoor mass at 11 am, includes lobster/ham dinners, live outdoor music, tours of the church and rectory, food & game booths, horse rides, cake auction, bingo, flea market and much more.

The Summer Concert Series continues with two concerts of baroque splendour provided by Marc DesRoches (oboist) accompanied by Leo Marchildon (organist). The first concert takes place at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Tuesday, August 8 at 7:00 pm, the second at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9 at St. Dunstan’s Basilica, Charlottetown. Admission is by free-will offering.

St. Eugene’s, Covehead

St. Eugene’s Cemetery Sunday:  St Eugene’s Parish at Covehead will celebrate Cemetery Sunday on August 13, beginning with Mass at 11:00 am, followed by a ceremony at the graveyard and a social gathering with Sharing Table.  All are welcome.

SDU BURSARIES: Students attending post-secondary institutions are reminded that SDU is providing 200 bursaries at $600 each. The Board also administers a number of restricted grants at $500 each. Application forms and additional information can be found at SDU website www.saintdunstansuniversity.ca or by calling 393-3441. Application deadline is August 31.

Choristers are invited to join the Diocesan choir in providing music for a special ecumenical service at St. Francis Church, Cornwall celebrating the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on Friday September 1 at 7 pm.  A single rehearsal will be held on Thursday August 31, 7 – 8:30 pm at St. Francis under the direction of Leo Marchildon.
