New Bulletin Announcements this Week:
St. Eugene’s Cemetery Sunday: St Eugene’s Parish at Covehead will celebrate Cemetery Sunday on August 13, beginning with Mass at 11:00 am, followed by a ceremony at the graveyard and a social gathering with Sharing Table. All are welcome.
The Summer Organ Recital Series continues with two concerts provided by Don Fraser, music director for Trinity United, Charlottetown. The first concert takes place at St. Simon & St. Jude Church, Tignish, on Tuesday, August 1 at 7 pm. The second concert will take place at 1 pm on Wednesday, August 2nd at St. Dunstan’s Basilica, Charlottetown. Admission is by free-will offering.
SDU BURSARIES: Students attending post-secondary institutions are reminded that SDU is providing 200 bursaries at $600 each. The Board also administers a number of restricted grants at $500 each. Application forms and additional information can be found at SDU website www.saintdunstansuniversity.ca or by calling 393-3441. Application deadline is August 31.
Choristers are invited to join the Diocesan choir in providing music for a special ecumenical service at St. Francis Church, Cornwall celebrating the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on Friday September 1 at 7 pm. A single rehearsal will be held on Thursday August 31, 7 – 8:30 pm at St. Francis under the direction of Leo Marchildon.
All men and women of the diocese are invited to join a Diocesan Choir which will provide music for the Opening (Aug 6 at 5 pm) and Closing Masses (Aug 9 at 5 pm), both at the Basilica for the National CWL Convention. The second (and last) practice is at St. Dunstan’s on and on Saturday, Aug 5, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm (please note change of time) with Leo Marchildon, Director of Music for the Diocese.
All CWL members across PEI: You still have time to register for one, two or three days. Think about accepting the invitation to meet Christ in a very meaningful way. Find the registration form in the winter edition of the League magazine and the itinerary in the spring issue. Bring a CWL friend and she will also be inspired. A wonderful way to celebrate Canada 150 with our motto “For God and Canada”!

Knights Choir Welcoming New Members! The PEI Knights to Remember Male Chorus, formed last October, invites new members for the Fall. Newcomer and veteran Knights of Columbus ages 18+ are most welcomed to join us for fun making music together and special upcoming engagements. Weekly evening practices will resume in mid-September, with the possibility for rotating schedules in participating K of C districts across PEI.
