Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

  1. Consecration of Canada – July 1, 2017:  The Bishops of Canada are inviting all Catholic Churches to celebrate the 150th Birthday of Canada by consecrating every Canadian Diocese to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Charlottetown Diocese will celebrate its re-dedication on July 1, 2017 in St. Dunstan’s Basilica.  In addition, every Pastor is invited to consecrate each parish within the Diocese to the Immaculate Heart on the July 1st week-end.

  1. SDU VACATION BIBLE CAMP: Due to cancellations, there are two available weeks for the Vacation Bible Camps which are sponsored by the SDU Board of Governors.  Available weeks are August 14-18 and August 21-25. Any parish or parishes that are interested in hosting a week of Vacation Bible Camp should call 393-3441 or email sdu@eastlink.ca for additional information.

Archbishop Luigi Bonazzi

  1. Our Lady of Hope Retreat Centre OPEN HOUSE Sunday, June 11, 2 – 5 pm, 67 Reid Road, Bayview (near Stanley Bridge), with a brief Inaugural Ceremony at 3 pm. The Papa Nuncio Archbishop Luigi Bonazzi will be attending. Everyone is welcome… come, see the beauty of this new Diocesan Centre!  – Refreshments included.

The Canadian Celtic Choir

  • Fr. John Molina in addition to his current positions of Chancellor of the Diocese of Charlottetown, and Associate Judicial Vicar of the Marriage Tribunal is appointed Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Cornwall, St. Anne’s Parish, Emyvale and St. Martin of Tours Parish, Cumberland.
  • Fr. Brad Sweet presently Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish, Richmond, St. Patrick’s Parish, Grand River and St. Ann’s Parish, Lennox Island, is granted a leave of absence.
  • Fr. Andrew Handrahan currently Associate Pastor at Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Charlottetown, is appointed Pastor of Immaculate   Conception, Richmond, St. Patrick’s, Grand River and St. Ann’s, Lennox Island.
  • Fr. George Palamattan, cmi. presently Pastor of Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Charlottetown is appointed Associate Pastor St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Cornwall, St. Anne’s Parish, Emyvale and St. Martin of Tours Parish, Cumberland.
  • Fr. Dovari Joseph presently Associate Pastor St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Cornwall, St. Anne’s Parish, Emyvale and St. Martin of Tours Parish, Cumberland, is appointed Pastor of Most Holy Redeemer Parish, Charlottetown.
  • Fr. Martin Carter presently Associate Pastor of St. Pius X Parish, Charlottetown, is appointed Associate Pastor of St. Dunstan’s Basilica.
  • Fr. Augustine Ignasimuthu, in addition to being Pastor at St. Cuthbert’s, at St. Teresa and St. Andrew’s at Mount Stewart is appointed Pastor of St. Patrick’s, Fort Augustus.
  • Fr. Joseph Palliyodil presently Associate Pastor of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Stratford, St. Joachim’s Parish, Vernon River, and St. Patrick’s Parish, Fort Augustus, is re-assigned by his Bishop to ministry in Europe.
  • Fr. Brian MacDougall in addition to present Parish ministry in Morell, Green Meadows and St. Peter’s Bay, is appointed Diocesan Chaplain of the Catholic Women’s League.
