It seems to me that that beauty, especially liturgical beauty, is not found by picking a winner in some abstract contest between grandeur and go-lightly. Rather, it is what allows us to let ourselves be led, childlike, towards the light of Presence. It is creating those moments, in the midst of struggle, when God’s light illuminates the little child in all our faces.
