O Cruor Sanguinis (O Stream of Blood)

O Cruor Sanguinis is a votive antiphon to Christ, the Redeemer by the German mystic Saint Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179). It begins: “O cruor sanguinis qui in alto sonuisti, cum omnia elementa se implicuerunt in lamentabilem vocem (O stream of blood, to heaven’s height you cried, when every element enwrapped itself within a voice of woe)”.
