Sensing A Pattern…

I’m beginning to worry about the impression people have of me.Over the weekend, I was bewailing my lack of internet access, and had mentioned that it followed my installation of a new cable modem. The response from several different sources was the same:”Hmmm.

Fr Zuhlsdorf gives extra work to busy parish priests

Thumbnail

Thanks to Fr Zuhlsdorf I had to stay on after Mass for the feast of the Transfiguration this evening to bless some grapes – the man positively goads people to bring things to the parish priest to bless. I had to go into the presbytery, get the ritual and look up the Benedictio uvarum

In the case of Bishop Morris I was surprised that his brother bishops seemed to take no action, indeed when his forced resignation was announced many seemed to support him

Insight from Francis Cardinal George

Insight from Francis Cardinal GeorgeWhile I was vacationing with my family, Cardinal George released this excellent blog post reflecting on Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s statement about Chicago values. In case you haven’t seen it, here is an excerpt:Recent comments by those who administer our city seem to assume that the city government can decide for everyone what are the “values” that must be held by citizens of Chicago
