The Church Exuberant

Bet you thought I died.

Well. In a year and a half of blogging, this is the longest break between posts. Its just that, y’know…wooosh. And suddenly its ten days later. Life is a bit like that. Wooosh. Ten minutes, ten days, ten months, ten years.

June is a busy month, so we thought it would be prudent to add more stuff to June. We just got back from the first annual British Columbia Homeschool Conference. It totally rocked. Babies EVERYWHERE. You know you are at a Catholic family conference when the children outnumber the adults four to one. B.C. is a big province. One would think it might be difficult to draw people together in the middle of this large province for a successful conference, but I think the need and desire for community is so powerful that there they were.

Build it and they will come.

The sanctity of this amazing group of twenty five families that gathered this weekend was palpable. If I had to sum up in one word what it is like to be around so many faith filled families it would be GOOD. It felt good, goodness reigned. God saw that it was good. Good children, youth, good parents, good conversation, good spiritual food. Good food. Good wine. Sleep? Well, there should be some small sacrifices.

Even that. It was So Good.

Little wonder I felt a spiritual repression all week. Where there is good, evil will always seep in to undermine it. I came away with my batteries fully charged and such a sense of hope for the future. The New Springtime is here and the Holy Spirit moves, my friends. The Holy Spirit sings and dances and shouts and draws us all into to dance in this great mission field.

“…a new missionary age will arise, a new springtime for the Church…” Blessed Pope John Paul II
