The seminarian at 1:26 is reading the Navarre Commentary of the 1983 Code of Canon Law. Brushing up on personal prelatures?

LOL, yes he is. But, if you look carefully, he is taking a look at Canon 906 – they have to learn the whole history and reality of Canon Law, right?

This gives me joyful hope. Circumstances place me outside the Traditionalist orbit, yet for that very reason I eagerly await the canonical regularization of the Society.

I worked at the NCCB (now USCCB) from 95-97. I knew those Catholic News Service types well then. You could not trust any of them then to ever put the decisions of Rome in any light except a bad one.
I am literally stunned that this video/interview was as well done as it was.
I wish they would release the whole interview, even if only a printed transcript, with H.E. Fellay.
Something must have changed, if not only just slightly, at CNS.

What is of great interest, in addition to the wonderful views of Econe and the Archbishop, reminiscent of tapes from the old days, is that the visuals, the music, the gentle interviews (His Grace smiling all the time), are all done so as to provoke a positive emotive response from the viewer. What a change from not too long ago!

The title of this video seems oddly inappropriate. Bishop Fellay says very little, and it seems to be out of step with what all the others are saying.

Wow. That is an amazingly generous video from an organ of the USCCB. The Society is portrayed positively while simultaneously being permitted rather blunt criticism of the Conciliar Church. Not out of the mouth of H.E. Bishop Fellay, but nevertheless.

Stop for a minute and look into His Excellency’s eyes. In his eyes you see honesty, kindness and forthrightness.
All you need to now about why our good God has made him the leader of the SSPX at this time can be seen in his eyes.

Econe is considered a bastion of the more hard-core SSPX, so it is very heartening to hear the moderate views being expressed here by two of the staff. Veni Sancte Spiritus! Flecte quod est rigidum!

This seems too good to be real? Is it?! lol.
Does ‘USCCB’ stand for United States Conference of Catholic Bishops? Why, when the American Bishops are so Modernist, would they ‘endorse’ such Trad ‘propaganda’? Soz, I’m surprised and confused !
I liked the style and old footage though.
Anyone else feel this way? Or is just my inbred cynicism???!!!

“Stop for a minute and look into His Excellency’s eyes. In his eyes you see honesty, kindness and forthrightness.”
Abp. F. Fénelon had said:
“The spirit of the Savior is a spirit of peace… he did not satisfy himself with an interior and invisible unity, he wished to establish a complete interior and exterior unity, in a way that it would be due to this visible and remarkable sign that we would recognize his true disciples.”

Yeah he does. So true. He’s another ‘smiler’, just like the Archbishop. A true son of his grace

Adfero is spot on! Anyway who has spent 5 minutes with Bishop Fellay is struck by his great sense of peace. I had the amazing pleasure of being on the same airline flight with him once. As he made his way down the concourse, many soldiers were waiting to be deployed to the Middle East. As he walked toward my gate area, I could see soldiers on either side of him in their gate areas, fall to their knees for his blessing. It was amazing sight, seeing so many soldiers kneeling and Bishop Fellay taking the time to bless them. He is wonderful.

The second seminarian said:
“Everything in the Latin Mass makes you realise that God is right here…everything puts you in the presence of God….I don’t find this in the New Mass…”
I couldn’t agree more.
Great hope and anticipation fill my heart viewing these future young priests.
And I really like Bishop Fellay.

Lovely video, thank you.
Not being a “Traditionalist” per se (I am ‘Traditional however) I admit to having difficulties with the SSPX position on ‘ecumenism’ and more especially ‘religious freedom’. However, I have always appreciated their stand against the liturgical changes that occurred due to the council. The few changes I would approve of were so over blown and abused that I still cannot attend a Liturgy of Pope Paul VI. I haven’t seen it done with the new changes but I understand most of the old abuses are still in play.

Beautiful video.
May 25 is one of my most favorite dates in the year: Sts. Bede, Gregory VII, Mary Magdalene de Pazzi, Urban, Madeline Sophie Berat.
It’s also the feast of Blessed Miguel de la Mora who was a holy priest gunned down with rosary in hand in Mexico in 1927.
If all that weren’t enough, it’s also the birthday of the legendary Cuban Negro Leaguer Martin Dihigo, who was an elite pitcher and hitter who deftly played all nine positions in the field.
Isn’t May 25 a powerhouse?

Thanks Marty Jude! Another funny part of that story is that when Bishop Fellay arrived at our gate area, it became very obvious that he was holding a “coach” seat boarding pass. My elderly traveling companion had a first class seat, I in coach. Bishop Fellay is a very tall person, so I suggesed to my friend Eileen, that she offer to switch with the Bishop, giving him a first class upgrade. I think she was afraid to approach him, so I quickly assured her that a plenary indulgence comes with upgrading a bishop to first class! We laughed and she gave him the upgrade. He most gratefully accepted. He was deep in conversation with a young man the whole flight, so I hope it was providence in some way.

Aw that’s funny and who knows? Another convert to The True Faith or, if already a Catholic, perhaps a vocation, or at least a N.O. Catholic, less confused and more aware???!!!
