Stephen Woodworth, MP* motion 312 is something we all must support. Its first hour of debate is scheduled for April 26th. The motion requests a committee to be formed to examine the evidence for whether or not the preborn are human. Click here for the petition.
Currently in Canada there is no abortion law, therefore a woman can have an abortion for any reason or no reason at all through all nine months of pregnancy without any legal repercussions. For a more detailed history of abortion laws in Canada click here.
Anyone conceived since January of 1988, when any bit of an abortion law was struck down, was only legally protected the moment they were born. Or, in other words, only considered a human person once they changed their location from being within their mother’s womb to outside of it.
This seems a bit odd, though, since I know when I was pregnant with my daughter, she certainly existed before she was born. If she didn’t exist my mid-section would not have expanded nearly as quickly in just nine months. In fact, not only did she exist, but she was unique with separate DNA from myself and her dad. She was most certainly alive, as two living things can only reproduce another living thing. Not to mention her continued growth. And, since I am human, we know she was human because two living things can only reproduce after their own kind. All of these things – being unique, alive and human – were established at the moment of fertilization.
I think I just summed up what the committee Woodworth wants to establish needs to know. Check out the videos below for some more information and evidence that the preborn are human and certainly deserve legal protection.
So, let’s hurry up and protect preborn human beings from the horrific “choice” of abortion!
